Good news from Grounds for Sculpture:



“Visit Grounds For Sculpture for free in February! Tuesdays through Thursdays, throughout the rest of February, Grounds For Sculpture will grant free admission to all patrons…Grounds For Sculpture, located in Hamilton, New Jersey (midway between Philadelphia and New York), is a whimsical thirty-five acre sculpture garden and arboretum on the former site of the New Jersey State Fairgrounds. Founded by Seward Johnson to promote an understanding of and appreciation for contemporary sculpture, the park has been enchanting visitors since 1992. Grounds For Sculpture features more than 250 contemporary sculptures, and two 10,000 square foot museum galleries with rotating exhibits. In addition, the park offers workshops for children and adults, concerts, performances, fairs, shopping and fine dining at the Zagat’s-rated Rat’s Restaurant.”

En el jardín is a collaborative work that weaves the flamboyance and earthy rhythms of flamenco and the physicality and imagery of modern dance. Following the story of the Serpent, and of Adam and Eve, the dance integrates the natural surroundings of the outdoor museum and the abstract forms of the sculptures to create an imaginative, organic yet contemporary Garden of Eden.


Music by Argentine composer, Osvaldo Golijov and guest palmeras: Leanne Alexandrini, Kelsey Burns, Cathy Carr, Anna Castro, Alena Docena. Costumes by Anna Castro.

Your Own Midsummer's Dream

The folks at PHS Senior Living Foundation are presenting their own version of a midsummer’s ‘evening’ dream on Wednesday, July 22 at 7 pm. As part of their ENCORE Opera program, they’re hosting a FREE outdoor concert at Hamilton’s amazing Grounds for Sculpture. Here’s a great opportunity for audiences of all ages to hear Broadway favorites sung by some of today’s finest young opera stars. Glorious voices, familiar tunes, magical surroundings, and the warm, sweet air of mid-summer…what’s not to love? Remember the insect spray, then prepare to be carried away. (Just tell the gate attendants at the Grounds for Sculpture that you’re there for the ENCORE Opera concert.)
